At work the other day, I accidentally scripted and acted out an ultra-hokey commercial for Blogger.

(Scene: Me, standing in a professor's office, talking to a graduate student from the English Department.)

Her: I want to have my 104 students keep an online journal this semester, but I don't know how to go about it. I wish there was something on the net that would just let them keep entries easily.
Me: Oh. There's quite a few. You should try Blogger.
Her: Blogger?
Me: Yeah. Blogger. Let me write down the URL for you.(scribbles on a post-it)
Her: How's it work?
Me: It publishes entries, like a diary, directly to a personal webpage.
Her: But won't they have to get server space somewhere to do it? I don't want to ask them to pay for anything.
Me: No problem. You can set up the account to publish to Blogger's free host. It's called BlogSpot.
Her: Wow! How much does Blogger cost?
Me: It's free.
Her: Really?
Me: Yup.
Disembodied Voice from the Heavens: That's right! Try new Blogger! Part of this complete breakfast!
Me & Her: (smiling foolishly)
Our Teeth: Ting!

OK, so I made up that last bit.
