Get the four-disc Lord of the Rings special edition. It has been entertaining us for a week, and we still haven't watched the entire thing. And ironically, the first DVD we rented was the classic German Expressionism early-part-of-the-century film "Dr. Caligari's Cabinet," which we'd watched a bit of in a film class. It didn't even have a trailer. The only special feature was a choice between soundtracks.
